Lack of care for one’s teeth and gums can lead to critical problems such as crooked teeth, yellow teeth, cavities, sensitivity etc. However, the process of taking care of one’s teeth is rather easy and straightforward. Brushing your teeth twice a day can help them remain healthy and strong. It helps in get rid of leftover food particles responsible for plaque buildup, which indirectly leads to a lot of oral problems. One should use a dry bristle toothbrush and floss regularly after meals. Using a mouthwash kills all the germs and helps counter bad breath.
  • Eat right
A person’s diet can impact their oral health. It is important to eat right. Foods containing sugar are bad for the teeth. They should be avoided or their consumption should be controlled. Constant munching can also harm to your teeth. All this gives rise to plaque buildup which eventually leads to other oral infections and problems. Hence, it is imperative to have a proper diet in place and to eat foods rich in nutrients.
  • Visit the dentist
One of the most important things when it comes to maintaining one’s teeth is to simply visit the dentist regularly. Periodic check-ups help in detecting any problem at an early stage so that it can be nipped in the bud. It is important to seek professional help whenever you experience pain or any kind of discomfort in the teeth. Visiting a dental clinic such as Dentzz thrice a year is recommended as it can lead to a healthier and shinier smile.

Don’ts
  • Carbonated Drinks
Aerated or carbonated drinks are heavy on sugar. A single can of soda drink is equal to ten teaspoons of sugar. Sugar is the main cause of plaque buildup. Carbonated drinks also damage the enamel and weaken the teeth. One of the most severe effects of acidic drinks is tooth decay. Practicing abstinence from carbonated drinks will result in stronger teeth.
  • Aggressive Brushing
While brushing thoroughly is necessary, avoid brushing your teeth aggressively. It can damage the enamel and weaken the teeth. Aggressive brushing can also lead to bleeding in the gums.
  • Chewing on ice cubes
It is fun chewing on ice cubes but is not advisable as it can cause your teeth to crack. Extreme cold weakens the teeth making it brittle.
