According to our experts, what parents fail to understand is that it's not only chocolates and candies that can cause tooth decay, but a number of other factors and one of the major causes is carbonated soda and cold drinks. These acidic drinks have proven to be a bad for oral health of kids as well as adults.

Not only in cold drinks, but the high levels of acids in fruit juices, soft drinks and sports drinks can cause serious problems and permanent damage to the enamel.
A new research shows that when you drink these beverages, within the first 30 seconds that the drink comes in contact with your teeth and mouth, it damages your oral health.
Mostly children and youngsters are more prone to such problems because they tend to be exposed to high level of sugary and acidic drinks.
A healthy mouth can keep such things at bay, but once there is high consumption of such drinks, the tables shift, and the acid from these drinks cause permanent decay and damage to your enamel. Use a straw if you drink beverages which means less contact with enamel and always brush your teeth regularly and twice a day.
